I write technical documentation, heuristic reviews and terrible puns.
Information architecture
I have extensive experience in crafting website information architectures (IAs), ensuring digital content is structured in a way that is intuitive, accessible, and aligned with user needs.
My approach includes:
-
creating content inventories and audits to assess and categorise existing materials,
-
user interviews and user testing to gather real-world insights, and
-
workshop activities such as card sorting to refine navigation and labelling.

These activities require a blend of usability research, analytical thinking, content strategy, and user-centred design.
Example: Career Centre IA restructure
After conducting a heuristic analysis for the WA Career Centre, along with some additional user testing and reviews, I created a proposal for a re-imagining of the navigation menu approach. Below you can find an excerpt from this proposal, that offers options for constructing the new navigation approach.
